Melissa conducted a master class at the Saint Paul Conservatory for Performing Artists on Friday, April 10, 2009. The Saint Paul Conservatory for Performing Artists provides a world-class, professionally-guided academic and artistic environment to train aspiring pre-professional performing artists in the areas of instrumental and vocal music, theater and dance.
Master Class at MacPhail
Melissa conducted a master class at the MacPhail Center for Music on Saturday, March 28, 2009. The emphasis of the master class was to help the young singers incorporate acting into their songs, and therefore experience acting and singing the lyric.
Performance at the Guthrie
Melissa appeared in the Frank Theatre production of By the Bog of Cats in the Guthrie’s Dowling Theatre March 12 – April 5, 2009.
Opening Voice Studio
Melissa recently announced the opening of her voice studio in St. Paul, MN. She counts among her students two who are auditioning for college music theatre programs, the male lead of Tony & Tina’s Wedding, several members of the chorus of Minnesota Opera, and the juvenile lead of the Ordway’s production of White Christmas. Melissa was the vocal coach for the Frank Theatre production of Caryl Churchill’s Vinegar Tom, presented by the Ritz Theater from Sept 12 – Oct 8, 2008.
Performance at the Alley
Melissa recently appeared in Agatha Christie’s The Unexpected Guest at the Alley Theatre in Houston running from July 12 – Aug 3, 2008. This is her third production at the Alley in the last four years.
